Dear Mayor Moncrief and Council Members,

Enclosed please find the recommendations of the Board of Directors of the Fort Worth League of Neighborhoods regarding proposed revisions to the City’s Gas Drilling Ordinance.  We have monitored the meetings of the Gas Drilling Task Force as well as the public hearings on these critical revisions.  We appreciate greatly the hard work of the task force, the city staff, and the City Council on the proposals.

We have found that Fort Worth neighborhood leaders consider the gas drilling revisions you are considering to be some of the most urgent facing their neighborhoods.  We appreciate your diligence in convening the Gas Drilling Task Force to see that our ordinance is strengthened for the good of all Fort Worth’s citizens.  Key Issues for Neighborhoods highlighting some of our most important recommendations are enclosed.  We look forward to further collaboration with the City on these issues.

Sincerely,

Board of Directors
