Membership has its Privileges

You may be asking yourself, "why join the League?" Good question. As the umbrella organization of all neighborhood associations, we represent a united front within the civic structure. Our members stay abreast of the latest issues and happenings within the city that affect our neighborhoods.

In addition, the FWLNA is a constant source for civic members including the mayor and city council for soliciting opinions and gathering the neighborhoods opinions on a quick and timely basis.  Through years of building strong relationships and supporting those who serve our city, we have established the FWLNA as one of the most respected and trusted associations in Fort Worth.

Urban Drilling Educational Meeting Series

It is no coincidence that energy companies are spending hundreds of thousand of dollars on a ad campaign with celebrity endorsement to get us all "Behind the Barnett Shale." The simple reason - because the worst part of the impact from drilling in our city has yet to be realized:

  • How do we dispose of the materials used to drill? (salt water injection wells)
  • How do we get the gas from the drill site out of our neighborhoods?

The FWLNA, with your support,  was instrumental in getting the task force reformed to deal with issues like these - only THEY MAY NOT DEAL WITH ISSUES LIKE THESE!

The FWLNA in conjunction with the Tarrant County League of Women's Voters are sponsoring an educational series on Urban Gas Drilling issues in our city.

The League of Women Voters has been very proactive in their concerns about urban drilling and we are thrilled to have them as a partner in this series.
